2014
The idea and creation

The idea and creation for this project was born. Our management, architect and technologist went to the heart of French patisserie and bakery – to Pairs and visited the largest expo to get some inspiration, learn about the newest technologies and find the best materials for work. In three months we had the idea for the project done, starting from the cute name, about all the equipment for the bakery and patisserie, the design for the interior to the recipes for cakes, bread, deserts and so on.

2015
Certifications and employment

Mrvica opens its first bakery and patisserie in Cengic Vila and starts with 20 employees; also farm Basna was established in summer 2015. to produce first bio products like strawberry, buckwheat and eggs for our own purpose. Certified for HACCP & ISO standard.

2016
Factory and new store

Mrvica opens its production center in Rajlovac, Mrvica Factory and has already abour 50-60 employees. Also, in 2016. we open our second shop in old part of Sarajevo, Mrvica Old Town. The grand opening is followed by the famous baker and tv star Rudolph van Veen in the heart of Sarajevo in front of 5000 peo-ple. Mrvica places its products at the Sarajevo Duty Free shop.

2017
Modernization and technology

Modernization of technology and education for the employees in Paris, Dubai, Istanbul, Milan, Stuttgart. Recertified for HACCP & ISO standard. Development for many products for distribution for gas stations, shops in Bosnia. Introducing Mrvica Cheese factory in farm Basna we buyed a small cheese factory for goat and cow cheese and hiring technologists for tasty goat cheese. This year we made all necessary preparation to open our own product shop in our bakeries – Mrvica Shop.

2018
Capacity expansion

The year 2018 was marked by major achievements and expansion of production capacities. Mrvica was honoured to be the only company from Bosnia and Herzegovina invited to participate in IBA Munich – the world’s largest bakery and pastry fair. At the same time, we modernised our ice cream production facility to meet increasing market demand.
This year also brought the beginning of key collaborations with hotels and corporate partners. The number of employees grew to 80, and we launched our own Mrvica Cheese Factory and Honey Factory within the Basna farm.

2019
Expansion and International Breakthroughs

The year 2019 marked continued growth and international recognition for the Mrvica brand. The number of employees reached 100, and the company participated in major trade fairs across Bosnia and Herzegovina – including events in Mostar and Bihać – showcasing its product range and production capabilities.
A significant milestone was achieved in December, when Mrvica became the only exhibitor from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the prestigious Advent in Zagreb, presenting its products at its own stand.
This year also saw our first independent export of products – including macarons and other pastries – to the European Union market.

2020-2021
Resilience and Adaptation in Challenging Times

The COVID-19 pandemic defined these two years with many challenges, yet also highlighted the resilience and strength of the Mrvica team. Despite the difficult circumstances, the number of employees grew to 110 and not a single staff member was laid off.
We quickly adapted by switching to a delivery and online ordering model to maintain customer engagement and ensure business continuity. At the same time, we continued investing in the development of the Basna farm and carried out renovations of certain production facilities within the Mrvica Factory to maintain high standards and technological advancement.

2022-2023
Brand Strengthening and Product Innovation

During 2022 and 2023, Mrvica continued to uphold its high standards of quality and cemented its reputation as one of the most popular brands in the region. The number of employees reached 120, and with continuous investment in product development, a new seasonal menu was introduced each year, tailored to modern trends and customer preferences.
The San Sebastian cheesecake gained special attention and quickly became our best-selling dessert and a signature item.
In the same period, all major certifications – HACCP, Halal, and IFS – were successfully renewed, reaffirming our commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with international standards.

2024
Internacionalni iskoraci i širenje brenda

The year 2024 was marked by big steps towards internationalization and strengthening of market presence. A special success was achieved by ours Dubai chocolatequickly became a customer favourite and a symbol of Mrvica’s premium offering.
We actively participated in numerous fairs and professional visits, further expanding our network of partners and sources of inspiration.
The catering segment saw substantial growth, with an increasing number of events and continuous improvement of the service.
At the same time, preparations for the opening of Mrvica Zagreb were in full swing – from interior design and product selection to staff recruitment and promotional activities aimed at entering the Croatian market.
